Summer Camp - 2017

The Green Dog Rescue Project summer camp is designed for children ages 10 and up.  Many campers will earn better grades by developing patience and understanding, enhance coping skills to deal with difficult issues, and become a better citizen by learning humane treatment of pet animals.

Campers will learn the following:

How to safely meet and greet a dog.
Learning responsibilities of caring for a dog.

Teaching basic commands.

Grooming a dog.
Taking a dog on a focused walk.
Cleaning up after a dog.
Journaling about the dog they have been assigned.
Learning how to do nail trims on a dog.
How dogs work together in a pack.
Getting dogs ready for adoptability, which also includes creating an adoption poster for their assigned dog.

Summer camp is beneficial for both the dogs and the campers.  Each camper is teamed with a dog and is responsible for providing positive experiences leading a successful adoption.
