We believe that our youth is the next generation of leaders in animal welfare.

To empower greater change in the way we care for animals, we have an active Junior Volunteer Program for youth ages 10 through high school seniors. Our goal is to educate these juniors about various aspects of dog rescue, as well as the future of dog rescue. We also strive to elevate their understanding of dog behavior through learning about the language of dogs.

To participate in this program, juniors need to attend an orientation where they will learn about GDRP and ways they can help with hands-on opportunities, such as, walking, brushing, teaching basic commands or just cuddling a dog.

In addition to our Junior Volunteer program, we offer opportunities for local students to complete community service hours. During the summer months, we also offer a hands-on day camp program.

Junior Volunteers
